The building that John’s Big Deck calls its home has been in existence for 100+ years and 60+ of those as a restaurant / bar.
In 1980 it became John’s and in 1983 the rooftop bar was completed.John’s offers 3 floors of food, drink, and fellowship with friends. With the 3 different floors, John’s has something for everyone.
Come on in to cheer on your favorite sporting teams, host a private event, or just grab a drink!
Nice fun bar with nice 2nd floor view of the city. Appropriate covid precautions by servers.
Three floors--three different atmospheres to drink or eat, hear live music/dance or whatsoever hootenannies. Narrow stairwells to negotiate on egress. Know your limit if you go to the open air deck up top... The stairs win against all inebriated users going down.... or up....
This is my first time getting a chance to visit Kansas City, MO! My husband and I noticed the nearest restaurant to our hotel was this place and it was absolutely awesome! We went up to the deck on the third floor and got to enjoy a delicious meal. This place takes the pandemic very seriously and there is plenty of spacing. I got the John's chicken salad wrap and my husband got the 'Po Boy sandwich. We definitely recommend this place for some good quality comfort food.
This was an amazing find. This place has THREE levels. The first level is your general bar, lots of room, plenty of tables. You pay a cover charge to get in. 10 $. You proceed up very steep steps to the second floor. This has been cleared out and has a DJ and dance floor. There are tables but it's limited. Also has pool table. The THIRD level is a rooftop bar. Breathtaking views, lots of tables and TVs. Lots of different food, and custom pizzas! The only gripe is the stairs are kinda sketchy
